Known Limitations

ChatKeep captures your conversations in high fidelity, but a few things are constrained by the chat platforms themselves. We list them transparently so you know exactly what to expect.

Platform capture limits

Collapsed artifacts / code panels: some platforms (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) keep an artifact's source code behind a button and a side panel you open manually. Until you open it, the source isn't in the page, so ChatKeep can't capture it. Open the panel first, then re-capture to include the source.

Rendered-only content: previews such as inline SVG or rendered HTML images don't expose their original source. ChatKeep saves what's available and labels it as captured-as-rendered.

ChatKeep captures what the platform makes available in the page. When something can't be captured, we tell you why and how to include it — we never silently drop data.

Feature availability

Chrome-first. Firefox and Safari aren't supported yet.

Some convenience features (e.g. TOC minimap navigation, prompt library) are still in rollout.

Cloud sync, sharing and published pages are opt-in and run only when you turn them on.
