Service overview
ChatKeep provides a local-first browser extension and companion website. Features may change or evolve as we improve the product.
Optional cloud sync
Cloud sync is optional. If you turn it on, you authorize ChatKeep to store and process your synced chats, notes, and sync metadata so they can be available across devices signed in to the same account. You are responsible for the content you choose to sync.
Cloud sync is not a permanent backup service. We work to keep synced data available, but you should keep separate copies of important information. Turning sync off stops future syncing; clearing cloud data deletes the cloud copy without deleting local browser data.
Subscriptions and billing
Paid plans are billed in USD through Creem. You can cancel anytime to stop future renewals.
7-day refund policy
You may request a full refund within 7 days of your initial purchase. After 7 days, payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the service or attempt to disrupt it. You are responsible for the data you store locally.
Shared and hosted content
ChatKeep lets you publish and share content—such as HTML pages or chat artifacts—through public links that ChatKeep hosts on your behalf. The sections below govern that shared content. They apply in addition to the rest of these terms.
Your content and ownership
Content you share or have hosted through ChatKeep remains yours. By sharing it you confirm that you have all rights necessary to do so. You are solely responsible for the content you share, including its legality, accuracy, and compliance with any third-party rights. ChatKeep does not claim ownership of your shared content.
Neutral hosting
Content shared through ChatKeep is created by a user. ChatKeep only hosts it and is not responsible for its content. ChatKeep does not create, review, monitor, or endorse the content of shared pages, and nothing in a shared page represents the views of ChatKeep. ChatKeep acts solely as a neutral host that stores and delivers content submitted by users, and any opinions, claims, or materials in a shared page are those of the user who shared it.
Acceptable use for shared content
When sharing or hosting content through ChatKeep, you must not upload, share, or distribute content that:
- is unlawful, or that violates applicable laws or regulations;
- infringes the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of others;
- discloses or exposes other people’s private or personal information without consent;
- is fraudulent, deceptive, or used for phishing, scams, or impersonation;
- contains malware, viruses, or other malicious code, or is designed to harm, deceive, or exploit users.
You must not use ChatKeep’s sharing or hosting features for any abusive purpose.
“Unlimited” share links and published pages are offered subject to fair use. We apply rate limits and reasonable safeguards, and may limit, throttle, or suspend usage that is abusive, automated at scale, or that imposes a disproportionate cost or risk on the service.
Reporting and takedown
Each shared page includes a Report link so that anyone can report content they believe violates these terms. ChatKeep reserves the right to revoke or take down any shared link, and to remove or disable access to any shared content, at any time and at its sole discretion—whether in response to a report or on its own judgment—and may do so without prior notice to the person who shared it.
Link expiration and revocation
Shared links are not guaranteed to remain available. A link may expire or be revoked. Once a link has expired or been revoked, the corresponding shared pages will no longer serve the content and will return a "gone" response, and the content will no longer be accessible through that link.
Third-party services
We rely on third-party providers such as Creem to process payments. Their policies apply to the data they process.
Disclaimer and liability
ChatKeep is provided "as is" without warranties. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability is limited to the fees paid in the last 12 months.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page.
